My first week of summer camp is over. It was elementary camp, with my church an other churches. It was a blast and I am glad for the day to rest and recoup. This was the third time I have counseled in 6 years, so I guess I was due. The next two weeks of camp, I'll be a lot more involved with the programming.
After having a few days to unpack and relax, I am ready for another week at camp. I have four more days til I leave again.
Yesterday as I was chatting with someone, I was asked a few interesting questions. But what struck me the most was my responses. I was asked what angers me the most, and my immediate response was "Ignorant people trying to push their unthought out ideas on others! A lack of grace, love and forgiveness. An unwilling spirit." That is more than one thing, but I was in a mood.
The next question was what excites me the most, and to that I said, "Babies, giving and receiving love and walking through life with others. Helping people find their way in life and come to want thirst for God." These were just the first things that came to mind.
I'm typically a fairly even tempered person, but I can be quite passionate! It was hard to get back into the swing of things yesterday. I knew God was getting further away, after giving and not having time to be recharged at camp. I spent Saturday doing laundry and only opened my Bible once. It was not enough. My best friend and I laid out a bit and swam, then went out to dinner. I went to bed way too late.
Sunday I taught my youth Sunday school, then taught the children during the service. Just after that I met a friend I have not seen in a year for lunch. They live in the In Grenada while her husband is in med school. Then I rushed home to get to a family party with my mom's family. It's always a good time when the Gregor's get together. But I was so tired Monday! I went to bed earlier last night and I finally feel ready for this week! I also remembered to take my vitamins and began taking coconut oil, after reading about all the health benefits.
I'm thankful for all the new friends I have made last week, and am super excited to be taking my high school students to camp on Sunday, and I am praying for good weather and changed hearts!
